Founded in 2010, the Verband Lebensmittel ohne Gentechnik (VLOG - Industry Association Food without Genetic Engineering) represents food manufacturers and retailers as well as sectors upstream and downstream in food production. VLOG advocates food production without GMOs, it engages in consumer information about GMOs and it allows licensees the use of the standardized seal "Ohne GenTechnik" on manufactured food products that meet their standards. The Association represents more than 450 members and licensees. So far most licensees are from Germany. Combined annual sales exceed 214 billion euros.

VLOG is an association registered with the Associations Register in Berlin, Germany. Although non-charitable, it is a non-profit company. Members elect a Board consisting of five directors, each of whom has a two-year tenure. An Advisory Council (currently six members from industry, government and civil society) supports the Board when needed. VLOG has an exclusive agreement with the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) entitling it exclusively to license the use of the official "Ohne GenTechnik" seal to industry users. User licenses have also been granted to brand owners and manufacturers not based in Germany.
