"Ohne Gentechnik" Conference VLOG .:. Forum on 3 July 2025 in Berlin

- This year's VLOG .:. Forum 2025 trade conference organised by the German Association for Food without Genetic Engineering (VLOG) will take place in Berlin on 3 July 2025. The aganda includes first-hand updates and debates on all things "Ohne Gentechnik" (Non-GMO).

A key topic will be the ongoing trilogue negotiations between the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers on the future regulations for new genetic engineering (NGT). The second major and possibly decisive round of these negotiations will take place in Brussels on 30 June 2025, just a few days before the VLOG .:. Forum. Martin Häusling MEP (Greens) will report first-hand on the state of play at our conference. As his parliamentary group's shadow rapporteur, he is closely involved in the trilogue process.

What is the position of the new German government, parliamentary groups and specialist politicians in the new Bundestag on the subject of NGT? After all, the CDU/CSU and the Greens have just swapped the roles of opposition and government in agriculture and food policy. And the voice of the German agriculture minister also counts in EU consultations and votes. We are planning a political panel round on this topic, moderated by journalist Hanna Gersmann.

What legal and therefore also economic implications would the upcoming new regulations have for our industry, and how can we address them? Berlin-based lawyer Dr Georg Buchholz, who recently brought new impetus to the NGT debate with his legal opinion on liability risks for the food industry, will report.

VLOG expects numerous representatives of its member businesses to attend the conference, including all major food retailers in Germany, food manufacturers and processors, feed businesses, agricultural businesses, beekeepers and testing laboratories, as well as other guests from politics, associations and the media.
