VLOG Panel "15 Years of the 'Ohne GenTechnik' Seal" on 20 June 2024 in Berlin

05/02/2024 - To mark the 15th anniversary of the "Ohne GenTechnik" (Non-GMO) seal, the panel event VLOG .:. Forum will take place in Berlin on 20 June 2024 with many guests from the food and feed industries, politics, industry associations and the media. Interested parties can secure a place now.

The "Ohne GenTechnik" seal was launched in 2009 by the then German Federal Minister of Agriculture, Ilse Aigner. It can now be found on more than 16,000 products, which together generate annual sales of around 17.4 billion euros at supermarket checkouts. This success and the further development of the market are the focus of this year's expert event VLOG .:. Forum 2024 organised by the Association for Food without Genetic Engineering (VLOG).

Extensive and interesting agenda to mark the seal anniversary

"From zero to over 17 billion euros in 15 years - that's more than enough reason to celebrate and look back. And, of course, to look ahead to future developments," says VLOG Managing Director Alexander Hissting. "In our anniversary year, we have therefore put together a particularly interesting and extensive agenda with many exciting panel guests from industry, politics and research for our VLOG .:. Forum. An ideal opportunity to reminisce and exchange views on our joint successes and to discuss current challenges, opportunities and prospects for the 'Ohne GenTechnik' seal."

The German language only VLOG .:. Forum 2024 will be hosted by Dr Tanja Busse. After a welcoming address by Ilse Aigner (via video), there will be contributions and panel rounds on the history and future of "Ohne GenTechnik", the current debate on new genetic engineering, the business initiative for freedom of choice and insights into current market and detection research on genetic engineering.

Guests expected on the podium will be Eva Bell (BMEL), Dr Klaus Berend (EU Commission, GD SANTÉ), Karl Bär (Green Bundestag parliamentary group), Bernhard Pointner (Molkerei Berchtesgadener Land), Felix Ahlers (Frosta), Fritz Konz (Tegut), Dr Odd-Gunnar Wikmark (NORCE), Prof Dr Holger Buxel (Münster University of Applied Sciences), Florian Faber (ARGE Gentechnik-frei), Heike Moldenhauer (ENGA), Bernhard Stoll (VLOG, RKW Kehl), Alexander Hissting (VLOG) and others.

With the Molkerei Berchtesgadener Land dairy, which has been a user of the "Ohne GenTechnik" seal from the very beginning, VLOG was able to gain an ideal and particularly authentic sponsoring partner for the seal anniversary and all associated events. Bernhard Pointner, Managing Director of Molkerei Berchtesgadener Land: "Our farmers from the mountain and Alpine region have never had to rely on genetically modified feed such as soymeal or rapeseed, and it has always contradicted our joint understanding of natural, trustworthy dairy production. The VLOG .:. Forum 2024 will take place on 20 June 2024 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm in the historic event location "Wartehalle" near the Berlin Nordbahnhof train station. Places are limited. Registration as soon as possible is therefore recommended. Please note that the event will be held in German only.
