The remaining Executive Board members made use of the option provided for in the Articles of Association to elect a successor in this instance and unanimously chose the ecotrophologist Susanne Langert, who has been working at VLOG member company Goldsteig-Käsereien since 2010. She is now also taking over from Barbara Fiedler as Head of Quality Management. “I am delighted to be able to support practical development through my involvement with VLOG,” said Susanne Langert.

According to the VLOG Articles of Association, Executive Board members must originate from different industry sectors. Like her predecessor Barbara Fiedler, Susanne Langert represents the dairy industry. The new VLOG Executive Board now consists of Dr Juliane Falzmann (Rewe, food retail), Susanne Langert (Goldsteig-Käsereien, dairy industry), Bernhard Stoll (Raiffeisen-Kraftfutterwerk Kehl, animal feed industry), Dr Michael Südbeck (PHW Group, poultry meat production) and Christoph Zimmer (Bioland, certification body).

The remaining Executive Board members expressed their sincere gratitude to Barbara Fiedler for her commitment and long years of trusting collaboration. Barbara Fiedler had been a member of the VLOG Executive Board since 2020.

A particular focus of this year’s General Assembly was the presentation of the considerations to date regarding the adaptation of the VLOG Standard to the new EU rules on new genetic technologies (NGT), recently adopted by the European Parliament. This update is required in order to continue to exclude the use of NGT in “Ohne Gentechnik“ (Non-GMO) production even after these rules come into force from summer 2028. “We are delighted with the lively and constructive dialogue between our members, the Executive Board and the VLOG office on this important issue, which is naturally a major focus of our attention at present. We will continue this dialogue in order to arrive at sound and practical solutions,” said VLOG Managing Director Alexander Hissting.
