International Non-GMO Summit on 13 May 2026 in Frankfurt

- How will the "Ohne Gentechnik" (Non-GMO) sector deal with new genetic engineering (NGT) in GMO-free feed and food chains?

It remains to be seen whether this week's "trilogue" negotiations between the European Parliament, the Council of Ministers and the European Commission in Brussels will result in a decisive decision on future EU regulations for new genetic engineering (NGT). In any case, it is time for the "Ohne Gentechnik“ sector to prepare for NGT and possible new genetic engineering regulations.

The International Non-GMO Summit in May 2026 will therefore be an important date for the industry to discuss the future of the "Ohne Gentechnik“ sector. Experts, producers, retailers and interest groups will provide an overview of the current status of the new EU regulations for NGT in food and feed at the industry conference in Frankfurt and highlight new perspectives:

• How can "Ohne Gentechnik“ labelling continue to be successful in Europe following a possible deregulation of NGT?
• How must existing "Ohne Gentechnik“ standards be expanded to ensure traceability and the exclusion of NGT from value chains?
• What are the latest developments in reliable detection methods for NGT?

The Non-GMO Summit 2026 will be the central opportunity to exchange ideas with the entire business community about the future potential of "Ohne Gentechnik“ feed and food production.

The International Non-GMO Summit 2026 will take place on 13 May 2026 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

The event is organised by the most important industry associations in the "Ohne Gentechnik“ market: VLOG (Association Food without Genetic Engineering), ARGE Gentechnik-frei, ENGA (European Non-GMO Industry Association), Donau Soja and ProTerra Foundation.

The planned agenda for 2026 and a review of previous Non-GMO Summits can be found on the Summit website. Updates are posted regularly on the Non-GMO Summit LinkedIn channel.
